I'd like to take an opportunity to soap-box a bit.
I feel like the situation in Mexico is one of the most significant harms of the drug war right now. I think taking a position and raising awareness on this issue is a great idea both locally and nationally. The problems that Mexico is having are a direct result of our prohibition policies combined with paternalistic policies pushing the Mexican justice system to do what none can, despite long standing awareness of its corruption. I feel that Mrs. Clinton is extremely off-base in her assertion to solve the problem via enforcement. As we know, that approach will only increase market incentives and inflame violence.
